This Season’s Kidrobot Dunny Figures Are The Best Collection Yet
The Kidrobot Dunny series of collectible toys has been running for several years now and continue to increase in popularity with each passing year. The stylish and hip designs have earned them a place in the hearts of both young and old, while their limited releases have ensured they quickly turn into collector’s items shortly after release.

The 2009 Dunny collection was recently unveiled, featuring 20 fresh new designs, and the new models are some of the most striking yet seen. Whether it’s a ninja, a cigar smoking cook, or a jailbird with a crowbar, the designs eschew the traditional designs seen in other similar toys, yet retain the element of whimsy which makes them appropriate and appealing to both adults and children.

The Kidrobot Dunny figures are designed by various artists from all walks of life, and different artists are given their shot at designing figures each year. This year’s artists include Gary Taxali, Amanda Visell, Andrew Bell, Luke Chueh, Amy Ruppel, Mori Chack, Huck Gee, Brandt Peters, Travis Cain, and Thomas Han.
In addition to their yearly releases from various artists, there are also several models which are designed in-house, and have a longer release window. As well, different themed series get released on occasion, such as the recent Ye Olde English collection of 17 new Dunny’s. Designs in this collection include a royal guard with a big furry hat, an inspector type fellow with a monocle and binoculars, and a poor fellow in a suit who’s futilely attempting to ward off the rain with his umbrella.

If you’re interested in the Dunny line of figures but can’t seem to track them down, the designers at Kid Robot also make several other brands of figures, all with varying design styles. Their most popular line after the Dunny line is the Munny line, a do-it-yourself brand of figures that comes in distinctive shapes and sizes, but without any coloring whatsoever. How these models are colored and ultimately appear is entirely up to you. It’s the perfect project to work together with your child on.

Other lines include a series of original designer models, various themed series such as their Labbit and Mongers lines, and even models based on popular shows such as The Simpsons and Futurama, with designs by the show’s creator Matt Groening himself.
There’s still plenty of time to get your favorite Kidrobot Dunny designs before they’re sold out for good. Because of the limited availability of these toys, they’re not freely available at stores. In particular, those living in smaller towns will likely find it more difficult to track down these figures. Your best bet is to call around, or even better yet, shop online.
